Energy in the Pit

October 31st, 2009

The Excelsior building, where the Summer Space program is rooted, has attracted many creative individuals and groups throughout its summer reign. Blue Sky left the building with phenomenal creative energy, as well as a new and improved look. Mike Elsass, the founder of the Summer Space program made the decision to capitalize on the space and energy in a specific area of the building known as “the pit.” He painted a body of work in this area during the summer of 2009, about which Amanda Baker wrote a book, which can be previewed online in its entirety here.
